Fra Lippi Madonna and Child

Madonna and Child Enthroned is a painting by the Italian Renaissance painter Filippo Lippi. It was completed in 1447. It is housed in a museum in Rome. The painting was commissioned by the archbishop of Florence and was probably destined to be placed in his palace. The center of the painting is the face of Madonna. She sits on a throne holding the child.
