Oglethorpe University Museum of Art

The exhibition on display at the Oglethorpe University Museum of Art when we went as a class was 19th century French master drawings and sculptures from the Schlossberg Collection. We were toured around the Museum by Schlossberg, the collector, himself. I liked that the items in the collection were not paintings, but drawings. The drawings themselves bring the artist closer to the viewer. The art itself is more accessable, because we, as children, all drew. All artists must produce tons of sketches and the third story of the library had some of the best from 19th century French masters. I really enjoyed an afternoon looking at interesting drawings and listening to a doctor, traveler, and collector talk about some of the possessions that he is the most proud of.
