Milan Cathedral is the cathedral church of Milan in Lombardy, northern Italy. It was dedicated to Santa Maria Nascente and is the seat of the Archbishop of Milan. The cathedral took five centuries to complete. It is the largest Gothic cathedral and the second larges Catholic cathedral in the world. The work began in 1386 and was complete in 1965. The roof, which is renowned for the forest of openwork pinnacles and spires, is open to to tourists.
