Junius Bassus, Sacrophagus

The Sarcophagus of Junius Bassus is a sarcophagus used for the burial of Junius Bassus, who died in 359. It is often described as the most famous piece of early Christian relief sculpture. The sarcophagus was placed under Old St. Peter's Basilica and was rediscovered in 1597. It is now behind the modern basilica. It combines the Old and the New Testament characters.
