Surrounded Islands Christo

Christo was born in 1935. His primary approach to art is large scale, temporary, non-harmful recreations of landscapes. His projects tend to cost millions of dollars and take about five years to plan. Surrounded Islands was created in 1980 off the coast of Florida. It took 6 million square feet to cover the outsides of eleven islands. The pink is a beautiful contrast with the sea.
