Diskobolos

The Discobolus (or "discus thrower" in Greek) is a Greek bronze original that was completed between 460-450 BCE. The statue itself is actually lost while numerous Roman copies (in both marble and bronze) exist. The moment that Myron captured in the statue is an example of rhythmos, harmony and balance. As always in Greek athletics, the athlete is completely nude.
