A View of Haarlem Ruisdael

Ruisdael's A View of Haarlem is an example of the Dutch Baroque period of art. During this period there was no need for religious paintings. The artists preferred to their own lives, land, and farms depicted. The paintings themselves were smaller because they were designed to fit into urban homes. I especially like the clouds in this painting. They make me want to go outside and just stair into the gorgeous sky.
