Cloister Graveyard Friedrich

Cloister Graveyard in the Snow was completed by Casper David Friedrich in 1810. Friedrich was a 19th-century German Romantic landscape painter. He was generally considered the most important of the movement. In the painting, the two large dying trees frame the image of the crumbling cathedral. The painting itself was destroyed during World War II.
