Correggio Assumption of the Virgin

The Assumption of the Virgin is a fresco by the Italian late Renaissance artist Antonio da Correggio. It decorates the dome of the Cathedral of Parma, Italy. He signed the contract 8 years before it was completed. It was completed in 1530. Below the feet of Jesus, the uncorrupted virgin is seen robed in red and blue.
