Khafre Enthroned
This statue belongs to the Old Kingdom (2700-2190 BCE). In his right fist is a folded cloth (called the Loop of Rebirth, whose ends of unequal length symbolize the king's earthly and immortal existences). Khafre is the Egyptian king, as is expressed in his royal headcloth, false beard and (fully) pleated kilt. He also has the god Horus (the king's earthly divine manifestation) hovering behind his head.
