Landscape with Cattle and Peasants Lorrain

This landscape was made in Rome, Italy, in 1629. It was Lorrain's first work and it is ideal landscape painting. The source of inspiration is the countryside around Rome—the Roman Campagna—a countryside haunted with remains and associations of antiquity.
